Novorossiysk Prepares for Summer Swimming Season

In anticipation of the approaching summer season, the coastal city of Novorossiysk has taken steps to ensure the safety and enjoyment of its residents and tourists. Water safety lessons were provided to 4,100 students across various educational institutions in the city, while over 43,000 students underwent tests to assess their understanding of swimming safety rules.

Eight designated swimming beaches have been established for public use: Alexino, Sudzhukskaya Kosa, On the Cape, Plazh for MGN, Russkoye More, Shirokaya Balka, Yuzhnaya Ozerievka, and Dyurso. Additionally, eight recreation zones, including Matros, Delfin, Myshako, Neptun, Kristall-1, Kristall-2, Laguna, and Admiral, will be available for vacationers starting in June. A further 12 corporate beaches are also accessible.

The city's administration has confirmed that all beach areas are fully staffed with the necessary personnel. This includes 124 certified sailor-rescuers and 32 medical workers, as reported by the Novorossiysk administration's Telegram channel.

While the Admiral Serebryakov Embankment is currently undergoing development by Zaha Hadid Architects, it remains unclear if the project will include public beach and swimming facilities as part of the urban revitalization effort. For a complete and up-to-date list of all officially designated swimming beaches in Novorossiysk, it is advisable to consult local authorities or the city’s tourism and recreation websites.

Previously, residents of the Krasnodar Krai prematurely started the swimming season due to intense heat, with temperatures reaching +30°C on May 26th.

Meanwhile, sports-enthusiasts can engage in various water sports and swimming activities at any of the eight public designated beaches, numerous recreation zones, and corporate beaches.
