Art Safari 2021 in Bucharest: A Celebration of Art, Culture, and Sustainability

Art Safari 2021, held in Bucharest, showcased a diverse range of artistic disciplines and themes, with multiple exhibitions and collaborations gracing various venues around the city.

The festival, a major platform for both Romanian and international art, organized group exhibitions and collaborations with museums and galleries. Some of the highlights included Paris Pallady, Enescu și Minotaurul, Young Blood 5.0. Hello, Math!, Japanese Design Today, and The Art of Not Wasting Anything.

Paris Pallady featured over 70 works by Romanian artist Theodor Pallady, alongside pieces by Henri Matisse, in a collaboration with Paris museums Museé de l'Orangerie and Museé Henri Matisse. This exhibition delved into Pallady's connections to Parisian art circles and modernist influences.

Enescu și Minotaurul combined musical heritage (George Enescu) and mythological themes, possibly featuring multimedia or interdisciplinary art forms that connect music and visual arts. This exhibition marked 70 years since George Enescu's passing.

Young Blood 5.0. Hello, Math! emphasized new generations of artists engaging with mathematical concepts within their works, pointing to experimental and conceptual art forms.

Japanese Design Today introduced contemporary Japanese aesthetic and design innovations to Bucharest audiences, highlighting cross-cultural artistic exchange. This exhibition displayed around 100 objects of Japanese design since 2000.

The Art of Not Wasting Anything focused on sustainability and creative reuse, exploring themes of environmental consciousness through art. The Food Bank, Edenred, and Lidl Romania are supporting this exhibit.

Art Safari 2021 also presented Young Blood 5.0. Hello, Math!, an exhibition connecting contemporary art with mathematics. Tickets with a 50% discount (from RON 150 to 75) are available for purchase online until September 5.

The event will take place in Bucharest from September 5 to December 14. Art Safari provides guided tours, workshops, and cultural activities throughout the season, bringing artists, curators, and the public together to engage deeply with the artworks and cultural topics.
