Springtime Scrubbing in Solingen's Historic Marketplace
Solingen, April 9, 2024 — The Technical Operations of Solingen (TBS) is hosting a spring clean-up event next Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the city centre around the Old Market. The event, which will run from 10 am to 1 pm, is open to all citizens and local businesses, and will feature a varied programme suitable for the whole family.
Mayor Tim Kurzbach will officially open the event, marking the start of the city's spring cleaning at the Alten Markt. The TBS will be present with heavy machinery, including sweepers, high-pressure cleaners, electric vacuum cleaners, and gum removers, to ensure the area is thoroughly cleaned.
As part of the celebration, flowers will be planted in the shape of the number '650', commemorating the 650th anniversary of the city. A hands-on planting activity will be available for attendees, and children will have the opportunity to explore a waste vehicle and a sweeper.
Local businesses are encouraged to participate, and all attendees can look forward to a small snack after the event. The TBS invites everyone to come together and contribute to a cleaner and more beautiful Solingen.
