Stein's Library Summer Reading Club Sets Record with 1,793 Books Reviewed
Stein's public library concluded its summer reading club with a lively closing ceremony at the Old Church. The event, which ran from July 28 to September 19, saw 136 children and teens engage in reading, with a total of 1,793 books borrowed and reviewed on goodreads, a record since the program's inception.
The library offered 216 new titles exclusively for club members. The 'Junior Reading Club', for grades 1-4, had 107 participants who reviewed 1,523 books. Meanwhile, the 'Teen Reading Club', for grades 5-8, comprised 29 teens who reviewed 270 books. The event culminated with a shared pizza party and a ceremony where prizes and giveaways were awarded.
Mayor Kurt Kr"omer greeted the participants, acknowledging their dedication and achievement. Those who read at least three books received a certificate, encouraging them to continue their reading journey. Notably, one Junior Reading Club member read an impressive 106 books, setting a remarkable personal record.
