Austrian startup Storyblok has achieved remarkable growth and success since its inception in 2016. Initially bootstrapped from an agency by founders Dominik Angerer and Alexander Feiglstorfer, the company has since become a globally recognised leader in content management systems (CMS).

Storyblok's journey began with a unique vision: to combine a headless CMS with a true visual editor, catering to both developers and marketing teams. This innovative approach, coupled with a UX-driven, thought-out system for content management, has become the company's unique selling proposition.

Storyblok's growth trajectory has been nothing short of impressive. Just three months after founding, the company became profitable. By 2020, after joining a founders' program in London, the team grew to 12 people. Today, Storyblok is a 100% remote, ISO-compliant operation, designed for global scalability from the start.

The company's 'aha' moment came when they realised that the best talent could be found globally, not just locally. This global perspective has enabled Storyblok to scale its operations worldwide, with its website initially set up only in English.

Storyblok's leadership team has been carefully selected. After becoming profitable, the founders actively sought leadership, interviewing 47 candidates before appointing a Vice President of Sales.

With a team of 12 and a leadership structure in place, the company continues to grow and expand its reach, proving that a thoughtfully designed, user-centric CMS can thrive in the global market.
