Substantial Spending on Rat Traps: Washing Machine Malfunctions Again, Costing €7,000

In recent weeks, a series of events has raised concerns about potential overpricing and fraudulent practices in the pest control industry in Germany. The case of an elderly woman named Maria Schneider from Regensburg, who encountered a rat infestation in her apartment, has sparked a wave of suspicion towards a company called Haustechnik Connor.

Two weeks ago, Maria found a rat in her apartment. Seeking an emergency pest control service, she turned to kammerjaeger247.de, a company that advertises itself as a "nationwide pest control expert" with comprehensive services, under the heading "PestControl Pro". Two men, who seemed to take the problem in hand, arrived about an hour later and suggested setting up rat boxes with poison at a cost of 299 euros each.

The invoice for the service totaled 6,903.13 euros, which Maria was supposed to pay immediately. However, she noticed something amiss and managed to stop the bank transfer just in time. The three rat traps, each costing 299 euros, were set up in her apartment but were never picked up again.

Haustechnik Connor or Haustechnik FC allegedly made another mistake by charging nearly 7,000 euros for a pest control service on July 12. This is not the first time the company has been under scrutiny. In May, a company called Haustechnik Connor demanded nearly 5,000 euros from another elderly woman for repairing a sink. After our report, the woman's son attended a court session and requested the phone number of Thomas M., who is not officially associated with any of the involved companies.

Despite numerous attempts to contact Haustechnik Connor, as well as associated companies Keller, kammerjaeger247, and PestControl, there has been no response via email. A lady from a company called Keller, based in Oberhausen, answered Maria Schneider's call and promised immediate service, but hung up after explaining the problem and announcing full-name disclosure.

In light of these incidents, it is crucial for consumers to be vigilant and aware of potential scams. If you suspect fraudulent or overpriced practices by Haustechnik Connor in pest control or plumbing services, it may be necessary to consult local consumer protection agencies, review platforms, or regulatory authorities that oversee trade and service providers in your region. Gathering detailed documentation of the service terms, invoices, and communications could support any formal complaint or investigation.

It is important to note that, as of now, there are no relevant search results or publicly available information specifically addressing an investigation into repeated overpriced services by Haustechnik Connor, including a pest control scam or a previous sink repair incident. However, the silence from Haustechnik Connor and the lack of response from associated companies only adds to the suspicions.

The "Saturday night surcharge" of 3,600 euros net on the invoice for the pest control service on July 12 suggests a potential scam similar to the one involving the 70-year-old woman from Regensburg. The rat traps, billed at 299 euros each, can be found online for less than 20 euros. The company later admitted a mistake and refunded the money, but the question remains: How many more times will this happen before action is taken?
