On Saturday, 22nd November, the city of Gütersloh is hosting a fruit tree distribution event at Westring 119. The municipal Environmental Protection Department is offering 50 fruit trees at a discounted price of 20 euros each, as part of an initiative to promote biodiversity in local gardens.
Interested parties can choose from eleven different varieties: six apple trees, two pear trees, one plum tree, one walnut tree, one chestnut tree, and one unspecified tree. To secure a tree, applicants are required to pay promptly, as only those who pay on time will be guaranteed a tree.
Submitted applications should be emailed to environment@ourwebsite, and each participant will be assigned an individual time slot for pickup. If payment is not received in time, the next person on the waiting list will be contacted.
The event will also provide tips on creating a natural garden for more biodiversity, as well as advice on planting and care for the new trees. The trees will be pruned professionally on-site, and along with the fruit tree, new owners will receive a planting kit containing a stake, coconut string, and planting instructions.
