Three Exceptional Youth Books of 2024 Honored at 'Select' Award Ceremony
The 'Select' Youth Book Award, an annual event since 2009, is set to honour three exceptional youth books of 2024. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony in Landshut's City Library on Thursday, September 25, at 6:30 PM. Registration is open via the media portal or phone.
The chosen books are 'Axolotl Roadkill' by Helene Hegemann, 'Draußen nur Sturm' by Wolfgang Herrndorf, and 'Die Mitte der Welt' by Andreas Steinhöfel. Selected by Landshut's students and the Youth Reading Club, these titles showcase the best in youth literature.
The event is patronised by Mayor Alexander Putz, carrying on the legacy of late author and translator Mirjam Pressler. The winning books will be presented by young readers themselves, followed by a champagne reception.
The 'Select' Youth Book Award aims to foster a love for reading and literature among young people. This year's ceremony promises an engaging evening celebrating the power of youth literature.
