Cruising Through Time in Gotha District
Get ready to hit the road in style as the Burgenland-Classic makes its 30th tour of the Gotha district. Over 100 vintage car enthusiasts will join in the fun, tracing little-used side roads, and competing in four timed trials. Classic models such as Trabant, BMW, Porsche, and even luxury brands like Cadillac and Henley, will be seen cruising the district.
The thrill of the drive meets camaraderie as the vintage vehicle lovers converge, sharing their passion for classic cars and enjoying family-like bonding before, during, and after the drive. "We believe in the love for the vehicles and the joy of driving, and we make sure our guests leave with great new impressions of this beautiful homeland," says Christian Riedel, the Thuringia-Classic Club's chairman.
The Classic Ride Adventure offers more than just a scenic tour. Teams face challenges related to their classic cars' skills and stamina. The day's efforts culminate in a delightful celebration at the Lindenhof, where participants swap tales and relive their grand tour.
Taste, Learn, and Observe Wildlife After-Work
Step into the Gotha Zoo for a unique after-work experience. On Wednesdays, join the twilight safari, starting at 6 pm, and witness the animals in a more relaxed and fascinating setting. This themed evening walk promises a blend of nature, education, and delicious wine from Thuringian Vinarium Erfurt.
Guided by experts, participants stroll through the zoo, tasting exquisite wines paired with small local delicacies at each station. As the day turns to evening, the sun bathes the enclosures in a warm glow, creating a magical atmosphere. Animal behavior experts provide captivating insights into the peculiarities and activities of selected species that are more active during twilight than the day.
