"Urban Melodies by Buddenbrooks": Literary Concert (September 27) at the Church Zum Heilsbrunnen
On the evening of September 27th, a unique literary concert is set to take place at the Evangelical Church Zum Heilsbrunnen in Bergisch Gladbach's Hebborn district. The event, titled 'Musik mit den Buddenbrooks,' is part of the 'Sounds of the City' series and is a cooperation between 'Literaturkonzert Köln' and 'Wir für Bergisch Gladbach e.V.'
The concert will feature renowned pianist Cosmin Boeru, who graduated with distinction from the Conservatorio B. Marcello in Venice in 1999. Boeru has given several concerts and recitals with young talents as part of 'Sounds of the City.' He will be joined by actress Sibylle Bertsch, a graduate of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart.
Together, Bertsch and Boeru have created a new, engaging adaptation of Thomas Mann's Nobel Prize-winning work, 'The Buddenbrooks.' The concert will showcase music that was significant to both the novel and Mann himself. Excerpts from the book will be included to illustrate the power and impact of music within the story.
Music plays a pivotal role in 'The Buddenbrooks,' causing heated discussions, enthusiasm, and discord within the Buddenbrook family. This concert promises to bring that musical journey to life.
Registration for the concert can be done online at www.wir-fuer-gl.de or by phone at 02204 483909 or 02202 982444. Admission to the concert is free, with donations welcome.
The concert is being sponsored by the brehmergroup, who have already presented three successful events with Sibylle Bertsch and Cosmin Boeru. Ingrid Schaeffer-Rahtgens and Ingrid Koshofer are the event organizers.
The Evangelical Church Zum Heilsbrunnen is located at Im Kleefeld 23, 51467 Bergisch Gladbach-Hebborn. Don't miss this exciting event that promises to be a musical and literary treat!
