Weekend arrival of the largest folk festival along the Peene River.
The 20th Anklam Hanse Festival: A Weekend of Excitement and Celebration
Prepare for a thrilling weekend as the Hanse Festival in Anklam celebrates its 20th anniversary from August 15 to August 17, 2025, at the Hafen der Hansestadt Anklam.
The festival kicks off on Friday at 4 PM with a traditional cannon shot, marking the beginning of three days filled with entertainment, cultural events, and culinary delights.
Live music and delectable dishes can be enjoyed at the Flusscafé by Abenteuer Flusslandschaft throughout the weekend. Well-known local DJs will take over the "Otto's Waterkant" festival stage after relaxed beats each Friday and Saturday from 8 PM, with special guest Nicholas Binder joining on Friday.
For those who prefer a unique perspective, the Ida from the Peendamm, provided by Abenteuer Flusslandschaft, offers a chance to experience the Hanseatic Festival from the water. Introductory tours in inflatable boats are also available for those who wish to explore the festival from a different angle.
The family area, including the straw bale pool, children's building site, craft street, and jumping castles, will be set up on the meadow towards the motorway bridge. The swimming competition of the water rescue service on the Peene will start at 10 AM on Saturday.
The grand fireworks display will still take place at 11 PM as scheduled, lighting up the sky over the festival.
Cultural groups from Anklam's partner cities, including a folklore group from Ustka, Poland, and "Black Roses" from Burlov, Sweden, will perform, adding an international flavour to the celebrations.
The cutter rowing teams will compete for the mayor's cup after the swimmers. The boat parade on the Peene has been rescheduled to around 8:30 PM due to the change in Vanessa Mai's performance time.
Due to organizational reasons, Vanessa Mai's performance on Friday will start at 7:30 PM instead of 8 PM. The exact location of the main stage is yet to be announced, but it will be located on the sand square at the Bollwerk at the end of Burgstraße this year.
A lost and found auction will take place from 12:30 PM on Sunday, and the popular rubber duck race will start at 4 PM on Sunday, with starting numbers available for purchase at the Anklam-Info in the new Ritz and on site.
An ecumenical church service of the Anklam church communities will take place at 11 AM on Sunday, no entrance ticket required. A boat ride, a musical extravaganza, cultural performances, and family fun - the 20th Anklam Hanse Festival promises to be an unforgettable experience!
Please note that while the core timing and venue are confirmed, details on stage location changes, program adjustments, and Vanessa Mai's altered performance time are not accessible at this time. For more specific festival communications or updates, please visit the official Hansefest website.
