Wiesbaden City discards unwanted tires
Next Tuesday, the city's Environmental Agency and Waste Management Department (ELW) will be carrying out a joint operation to collect abandoned bicycles from around Wiesbaden Central Station.
The collected bicycles will be considered illegally dumped waste and will be sent for metal recycling. These abandoned bicycles have been blocking needed parking spaces for other cyclists, creating an eyesore, and posing a safety hazard due to protruding spokes or sharp-edged fenders.
Four weeks ago, the affected bicycles were marked with a sticker on the frame. The sticker informed about the upcoming disposal of the bicycles and instructed their removal. The bicycles will be removed from bike racks, pedestrian underpass fences, lamp post, and traffic sign posts.
The collection action is scheduled for next Tuesday, September 23, commencing at 10 am. However, the authority responsible for the collection at the central bus stop in Wiesbaden on September 23 is not specified in the provided search results.
Despite this, the city's Environmental Agency is urging cyclists to check their bicycles and remove them from the designated areas before next Tuesday. This initiative aims to improve the cleanliness and safety of the station and its surrounding areas.
