31st Thuringian Wine Festival in Bad Sulza: A Grand Procession Awaits
The 31st Thuringian Wine Festival is set to take place in Bad Sulza on the 16th of August, promising a celebration of local wine culture and tradition. This year's event is expected to be particularly special, with a high turnout from various groups, including kindergartens, schools, associations, companies, and even a shooting club from the Netherlands - St. Gregorius the Great.
The grand procession, the highlight of the festival, will commence at 2 pm from the Gradierwerk. The lineup for the procession begins at 1:30 pm. The parade will involve around 50 scenes and approximately 500 participants, including the TSG Buttstadt delegation who will dance in the procession, a physiotherapy practice at the park in Bad Sulza with fairies, and a well-known E-Mobile from Weimar participating for the first time.
The Wine Princess Saskia and the Regional Wine Queen Emma will also be part of the procession, along with a mysterious giant champagne bottle, which played a significant role last year, from which the newly crowned wine princess emerged.
Elke Meinhardt, the chairwoman of the Thuringian Wine Growers' Association Bad Sulza, is co-organizing the event. Despite the weather not being perfect, she expresses her satisfaction with the effort everyone is putting into implementing the festival's motto. She also hopes for a blessing from Petrus.
The spa company will run as the last scene and will reveal the secret of the motto for next year's wine festival. For more specific details about the festival's theme, the timing of processions, the participating groups, and unique highlights, it is recommended to consult the official event website, local tourism office, or organizers' announcements closer to or during the festival dates.
