Winter essential clothing collection
In the heart of winter, I embarked on a mission to create a winter capsule wardrobe, a project I've tackled five times before. December is a sacred month for me, and I wanted to minimise my shopping time to make the most of the festive season.
My excitement for winter is undeniable, and this year, I was determined to curate a wardrobe that would reflect my winter spirit. However, an internal struggle arose: I put pressure on myself to have variety and colour in my wardrobe, fearing it might seem too monotonous.
With a budget of $250, I set out to find the perfect pieces. After two shopping outings, I managed to get 9 new items and one as a gift. My shopping list included a graphic tee, white tank, classic button up, slouchy sweater, white cords, wrap coat, white sweater, sherpa jacket (similar), sweatshirt, cocoon cardigan, midi dress (similar or similar), marled turtleneck, indigo jeans, tunic top, sweater tunic, wool joggers (similar), dark grey denim, unstructured blazer, colourblocked sweater, ponte leggings, puffer jacket (similar), leather jacket, shirttail hem skirt (similar), leather leggings (similar), dress boots, cutout booties (similar), wedge booties (similar), cognac booties (similar), moto boots, vans high tops (similar), flats (similar), slip-ons (similar), and shearling farm boots (similar).
Interestingly, the dress boots account for half of my budget, making them a significant investment. My sherpa jacket was a thoughtful gift from family, saving some budget. I also relied heavily on discounts for my shopping spree.
The total cost of my shopping comes out to about $83 per month, which I believe is a reasonable expense for a season's worth of wardrobe updates. My main goal for this winter wardrobe was major comfort, and I believe I have achieved that.
As I settle into my new winter wardrobe, I find myself changing in unexpected ways. I'm looking forward to sharing more about the chosen pieces and my reasons for choosing them over the coming season. Stay tuned for more insights into my winter capsule wardrobe!
